Governor Pritzker, Mayor Lightfoot, Representative Robinson, Senator Hunter & Alderman Dowell,

We have to ask for your support. We are very happy to see the Illinois and Federal Governments doing everything they can to help the public and small businesses. Passing legislation that allows for grants and loans to restaurants is a huge help.

The Small Business Resiliency Loan and Hospitality Emergency grant programs are going to provide relief to many restaurants who need it.  However, in the wording of these programs it says that to qualify for the program, a business must have revenue in 2019 or have been open 12 months. What it does not say is what it is going to do to help restaurants that didn't have any revenue in 2019. SBA relief is one option however that is not going to be immediate or guaranteed.

Please help support our cause and draft new legislation to make funds available for businesses that opened in 2020 and had no revenue in 2019 so they have access to the same grants and loans as established ones.
