I am expressing my support for the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and its specific protections for independent contractors. I am an Occupational/Physical/Speech Therapist who works as an independent contractor in the schools and is part of the 'gig economy.' I contract with multiple agencies. Due to the state mandated school closures I am currently out of work two or more weeks unpaid. This will cause significant financial hardship. I am signing this petition in the event that this act has provisions that will protect therapist contractors who work multiple jobs and are faced with closures from agencies and schools.
