Ban The Sale Of Foie Gras From Force-Fed Animals In NJ

The Issue

Foie gras is a luxury food item made from fattened duck or goose liver. The birds are force-fed 2-4 times a day while being confined in cages so small that they are unable to move. Force feeding requires a metal tube to be pushed down their throats, grain is injected, causing their livers to expand up to 10 times its natural size.

This practice is inhumane. Numerous countries, and recently the state of California, have banned the sale of foie gras from force-fed animals. Force-feeding is unnecessarily cruel and no life deserves such treatment. Please help us ban the sale of foie gras from force-fed animals in New Jersey.
