A new branch of the judicial system that ensures justice and equality

A new branch of the judicial system that ensures justice and equality

The Issue

In the wake of whats going on in the nation, its obvious now more than ever that it is time, and has been time for a change in the justice system. With the death of George Floyd and the bare minimum charge the officer is being charged with, Eric Garner, and countless others who also had their lives taken away by the police in which the officers either received no charge at all, a bare minimum charge in which by evidence proves it should have been a higher charge, or / and a charge was given and despite the evidence the officers were found innocent / acquitted. This needs to change.

The thing is, that some officers know that even if they do something the code of silence some officers go by will not allow them to report against each other, in fact they end up covering for each other and unless its serious evidence like video, no charges ever get filed. Therefore some officers who have racist agendas use their position of power to carry out their agendas with no consequence. Those that are good officers are often pressured to stay quiet if they see anything a bad cop does, or their loyalty to the shield is questioned. These bad cops have made our good officers and the entire justice system look awful for too long, and i think something should be done about it.

The point of this petition is to introduce a new branch in the judicial system. A permanent coalition, consisting of citizens, prosecutors, defense, and civil rights attorneys, law enforcement, and other members of the judicial system. The most important part is that this will be multicultural. Their job would basically be to police the judicial system, intervening when injustice takes place, such as when bad cops aren't brought up on charges when their is sufficient evidence that there should be. Also when cops are acquitted when they shouldn't be. Although they cant be charged again, the committee will decide if there is enough evidence to bring said officers up on civil rights violations. They will also have the power to review all evidence in any case of their choosing, including evidence when people die in police custody. Each member will have an equal vote, and the lawyers in the coalition will act on cases when voted on and deemed appropriate.

We encourage the help and signatures of those good cops, to bring forth the justice system we have all hoped for. We appreciate the introduction of body cameras, and while they have made a difference, more is needed. So please, I urge you all over the nation to sign this petition, and let us all, as Americans, bring forth the system that we all have wanted for a very, very long time.
