Justice for Rape! Bring Back Death Penalty!

Justice for Rape! Bring Back Death Penalty!
The Issue
Recently a brutal crime circulated over the internet. A photo of a girl with a face skinned to the bone took over Facebook.
The post quickly went viral, leaving netizens curious about the story behind the photo.
Teenager's half naked body was found dead in Sitio Mahayahay, Barangay bangkal Lapu-lapu city on the morning of March 11. The 17 year old victim was identified by her mother through her shirt
due to the reason that the teenager's face was unidentifiable.
Based on recent reports, a witness saw Silawan being chased by three men who were on black motorcycle whom grabbed her sling bag until she fell on the ground.
The man covered her mouth while the others stabbed her in the neck. She was then raped and later, the criminals skinned her face.
Senior Supt. Limuel Obon, the city police director said they would invite for questioning the persons who were with Christine before she disappeared and they would check the footages of CCTV cameras in the establishments that she was last seen.
In June 2006, RA 9346 was signed which abolished the use of Capital Punishment (Death Penalty) with life imprisonment and Reclusion Perpetua which accounts 20 to 40 years of imprisonment in the offender depending on the circumstances surrounding around the case.
RAPE is a very serious case that our country has to deal with. The case of Silawan is just one of the horrifying terrors of this crime. The act is not only cruel but is also very inhumane.
We think that imprisonment is not enough to serve the right justice to the victims. The life that they took will never be taken back and the grievance will forever be a scar that will remain in the lives of their families for a life time. We shout to reinforce Death Penalty and impose proper Justice to those that suffered this horrible crime!
