Stop the Novel Parkway Development Project

Stop the Novel Parkway Development Project
Why this petition matters

325 apartments proposed for International Parkway and Wilson Road and Proposed Novel Parkway Apartments and Retail and Self-storage facility
The proposed plan as it stands concentrates all the private housing on International Parkway and Hwy 46 and all other residential homes on the streets of Wilson Road and Wayside Drive.
It violates both Savannah Park at Heathrow, Tall Trees with all other surrounding communities’ planning policies. Two of our Seminole County Commissioners agreed that it was undesirable to concentrate this type of housing together, however, it passed with a simple majority. But the other three voted for it, anyway.
When options (such as leaving it as a natural area, constructing instead a lower-density business park, or restricting egress/ingress from Wilson Road) were presented at the Seminole County Commissioner meeting, no consideration or discussion materialized. This area is one of the few remaining suitable sites in our local area to keep and preserve our Seminole County’s natural resources.
It is disappointing that three of the Seminole County Commissioners Carey, Zembower, and Lockhart – voted yes. Theyvoted to approve building more housing here on our doorstep without listening to the residents. But it is unbelievable, and a betrayal of concerned, engaged residents. It was disappointing, to say the least, to local taxpayers.
Two Seminole County Commissioners, Dallari and Constantine, have consistently been opposed to over-develop our area. The infrastructure does not support a continued development plan. Our schools, small businesses, and housing communities all are struggling to cope with more and more people, heavy traffic, and noise pollution on International Parkway. This development, if built, would mean nearly 325 extra housing units dumped in our area, and many hundreds choking up our natural resources.
We can stop this decision and seek a more appropriate development plan – but we can only accomplish this with your help and this petition.
