The zoning committee approved the developer's request to rezone the plot of land to residential. The committee however made their recommendation no more than 3 story tall buildings. However, we need to continue the fight against this project. We need to push for low density residential, as even with 3-story apartments this would remain a very high density complex. Please keep sharing the petition and make sure to email and call the commissioners to request low density residential. Couple key points to bring up:

1. 3-Story apartments are not consistent with the area. Our area is either single family homes or at worse 2 story apartment buildings in the front and 3-story apartments in the back and looking more like townhomes!

2. Schools are already over capacity and assessment of County staff states this apartment will make things worse. But if the project goes forward, make sure to request the commissioners to make the developer pay the "New School Impact Fees" so the developer pays their fair share towards our county schools!

3. Crime increases with apartment complexes as shown in the picture attached.

4. Traffic and accidents that plague this area of Aloma. Unfortunately the developer has data to downplay how bad Aloma is. According to the data Aloma is not yet at capacity, but the problem is the right lane of West bound traffic being jammed.

Again, please share, please encourage your friends and neighbors to sign and make sure to email and call the commissioners!!
