The Issue

I have been a New York Jets fan since I was 7 years old.

Like many faithful Jets fans, I have been loyal to this organization my entire life and sincerely want them to succeed. I love so many of our players, from past legends like Darrelle Revis to modern day stars like Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner. We have had respectable coaches, like Rex Ryan, Todd Bowles, and Robert Saleh. Overall, the Jets have failed as an organization, but I appreciate the amount of hard work that so many of our players and coaches have contributed to the team.

With that being said, for as long as I can remember, the Jets have been the laughing stock of the National Football League and seem to be allergic to sustained success. Outside of our back to back AFC Championship runs in 2009 and 2010, and the well-known "Super Bowl Guarantee" from the great Joe Namath in 1969, the depths of incompetency that the Jets have reached is unlike any organization across professional sports.

Woody Johnson bought the New York Jets in the year 2000. Since then, Jets fans have endured 9 head coaching changes, 23 different quarterbacks, and 13 consecutive years without making the playoffs; the longest playoff drought in pro sports. It seems like no matter what the Jets try, they are destined to fail. We have had countless great players and coaches who failed to reach their potential in New York and flourished elsewhere. It is my hypothesis that there is one glaring cause for the Jets predictable ineptitude, and his name is Woody Johnson.

I have had enough of Woody Johnson and his terrible leadership. To be clear, I don't think Woody is a bad person, but I do think he is an incapable owner. Jets fans are some of the best fans in the world, and we deserve better because of our intense passion and loyalty. It is time for us to send a message to Woody, and I am hoping that this petition can accomplish that.

SIGN THIS PETITION TO VOICE YOUR OPINION THAT WOODY JOHNSON NEEDS TO SELL THE NEW YORK JETS.

Woody Johnson cannot and should not run this team any longer, and if Jets fans can band together, I think we have a chance to grasp his attention and serve as catalysts for change. I am a believer that all great organizations start at the top. A great owner can turn around a football team the same way a great CEO can change the trajectory of a company. When the Jets have made changes everywhere but the owner, over and over for decades, who else is there to blame?

Jets fans, I ask that you join me on this mission so that one day we can rejoice as a victorious football team that we can all be proud of. Thank you for taking the time to read this and go Jets!
