Solar in Belmont - NOW

Solar in Belmont - NOW
The Issue
Belmont, MA residents - we need your help!
Sign this petition to inform the Belmont Light Board that you want Belmont Light's solar policy and practices to be sound, fair and friendly.
#solarbelmontnow
Background:
Belmont Light has designed and implemented draconian policies related to residential solar power, stifling the adoption of this clean source of energy. For the past decade around the country and in Massachusetts, municipalities and utility companies have implemented and practiced net metering solar policies in support of renewable energy.
The Federal Government and the State of Massachusetts have implemented incentives which are due to expire December 31, 2016. Belmont residents will miss out on these incentives if Belmont Light delays any longer.
Whether you can have solar on your roof or not, it is good for the town both financially and environmentally for as many homes as possible to adopt solar. It has been WAY too long that Belmont Light has not embraced renewable energy.
You can help change Belmont Light's policies NOW to embrace and foster solar power, allowing today's residents to cut their carbon footprint. This is but the first of many clean energies that can be adopted in Belmont - let us pave the way for a smaller carbon footprint and so we can keep up with the rest of the world.
Sign this petition - we have a goal of 500 signatures (which we hope to beat!).
