Many students in the BISD school district have similar concerns on the SEL curriculum such as the same subject being taught for very different age ranges. The councelor has stated that the same SEL subject is taught for 6th grade and above. These curriculums include simple vocab words and questions that slip out from students head. Major issues going through the BISD school district such as sexual assult vicitms, self-harm, suicide, depression, and home abuse are happening in many students lives and are being ignored. We want to go to the BISD superintendant and request a change in budget for an SEL that helps students discover how to solve their real problems before it's too late. We lost a student to suicide last year and we can't let it happen again. Please sign this petition to help us convince the district for a budget change!
