Remove the new Cycle Lanes from Southport town centre!

The Issue

Over the past few weeks Sefton Council has installed cycle lanes down Hoghton Street and Chapel Street in Southport town centre.

This was done with no consultation with local businesses or residents and no thoughts for disabled visitors who are rightly angered by this move.

Businesses, who have already been severely hit by the COVID lockdown can ill afford the significant losses that the removal of on street parking has done, and will undoubtedly have to close permanently should the cycle lanes remain in place.

There are already cycle lanes (mostly with little use) on Derby Road and London Street leading into the town centre.

I am campaigning to get Sefton to remove the lanes and return the street parking immediately.

Please sign this petition to help us return our streets to their original state with on-street parking.
