On the morning of 7th April 2026, our family was shaken by the tragic and untimely death of my cousin, Lakshya Mishra. Lakshya was a bright and ambitious 2nd-year BTech student at MAHE Manipal University in Bengaluru. His future was filled with promise, and like any other student, he was on a journey to achieve his dreams and make a positive impact in the world.

However, all those dreams were shattered when we received the news that Lakshya was found dead in his hostel under mysterious circumstances. According to the college management, he allegedly "jumped" from the 9th floor at 3:15 AM. This explanation has left us in absolute disbelief. We refuse to accept this narrative until a thorough and impartial investigation is conducted. Our entire family is suffering, unable to find peace or closure because of the uncertainty surrounding his death.

Lakshya was not just a student; he was a beloved member of our family. His death raises more questions than answers. Why would a young man full of life and ambition resort to such an act? There was no history of depression or any indication that he was in distress. Lakshya was planning his future and was in regular contact with his family, sharing his excitement about upcoming projects and exams. The abruptness with which this tragic event unfolded demands an immediate and comprehensive investigation.

We demand that Manipal University and local authorities launch a detailed and impartial investigation into the circumstances leading to Lakshya's death. This investigation should include interviews with students, faculty, and staff who had contact with him during those final hours, as well as a thorough review of CCTV footage and forensic evidence. Transparency in the investigation process is crucial to uncovering the truth and ensuring that justice is served.

We cannot allow this case to be dismissed without proper scrutiny. It is not just about Lakshya, but about ensuring that every student's life is respected and protected. We must rely on an unbiased investigation to understand what truly happened to Lakshya.
