I am a parent to an autistic child who occasionally exhibits behavioral issues due to his condition. Despite my best efforts to manage and redirect him during these episodes, we have been subjected to unwarranted scrutiny and false accusations of abuse at the YMCA in Midwest City, Oklahoma. This has not only caused emotional distress but also tarnished our reputation within the community.

Autism affects 1 in 54 children in the United States (CDC, 2020). These children often exhibit behaviors that can be misunderstood by those unfamiliar with the condition. It is crucial that institutions like YMCA are educated about autism and its associated behaviors so they can provide a supportive environment for all children.

This petition seeks justice against these false allegations and calls for increased awareness about autism within our community centers. We demand a thorough investigation into this incident and appropriate action taken against those responsible for these baseless claims.
