The Issue

This is a personal plea to seek justice for my son, Denareus Ellick, who tragically lost his life on September 3, 2023, in Palm Bay Melbourne, Florida (Case # MP23-61021). Denareus, despite his troubled past, did not deserve the gruesome fate that befell him; an atrocious act committed by my own sister, Ladon Sampson, her son Antaeviaun Richardson, and my son's then-girlfriend Jessica Gemme.

On that unfortunate night, they not only cruelly ended his life, but they attempted to stage the false narrative of self-defense. They claimed their phones were dead when the incident happened whereas in a horrendous twist, someone did call 911. The physical evidence, blood found on both Jessica and Ladon, tells a different tale altogether about what might have transpired that night.

Adding to my agony, the homicide detective initially seemed genuine, but the narrative suspiciously changed in a matter of days. The State Attorney's office and the Detective made up a whole lie. Samantha Barrett, the state attorney, did not handle the case diligently. Even the honorable Judge Charles Crawford seemingly overlooked the glaring gaps in the tale put forward by Antaeviaun, let him off under the guise of a stand your ground defense.

I earnestly entreat you to join in demanding a re-evaluation of my son's case. Denareus Ellick deserves justice, and the true narrative of his demise needs to be brought to light. Please sign this petition and stand with us in this quest for truth, fairness, and most importantly, justice for Denareus.
