We’re seeking your help again as part of our ongoing campaign to secure Queensbury Tunnel for future use.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority has the opportunity to recognise the strategic value of the structure by listing it as an important infrastructure asset within its Local Transport Plan. This would strengthen our hand in resisting the tunnel’s abandonment.

The draft Plan identifies the intention to link west Bradford with Halifax for active travel - for which the only safe and attractive option passes through the tunnel - as well as the possibility of a future extension of the West Yorkshire Mass Transit network into Calderdale.

We are therefore asking you to write to the Mayor with a short response to the Plan’s ongoing public consultation, a process which is open until 21st October. The more people who raise the issue, the harder it is to ignore.
