Tomorrow (Tuesday 21st October) is the last chance to make your views known on West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Local Transport Plan, with consultation ending at midnight.
We would urge supporters to ask WYCA to safeguard Queensbury Tunnel for future transport use, rather than losing the opportunities it presents - at significant cost to the taxpayer - in order to satisfy the narrow interests of a few civil servants in National Highways and the Department for Transport.
You can do this in two ways: either by completing one of the questionnaires developed by WYCA which ask questions on the Plan as a whole…

Or you can simply send a standard letter to WYCA, written by the Society and focusing specifically on matters relating to the tunnel. It’s available via this link…

It only takes a minute to send.
Whilst you’re there, you can also send a letter to your local MP, highlighting your concerns over NH’s renewed plans to abandon the tunnel…

There’s also a letter to Simon Lightwood, the newly-appointed Minister whose portfolio now includes the Historical Railways Estate, looked after (if you can call it that) by National Highways. He has the power to pause the abandonment plans and put the whole matter under review, so we would appreciate you writing to him too…
Many thanks for your continued support.
