A moratorium on breeding Secure Funding for Dog Rescues in Queensland

A moratorium on breeding Secure Funding for Dog Rescues in Queensland
The issue
Having started Judd Dog Rescue Inc in Queensland this year, our mission and aim are at the heart of saving dogs on death row. We provide a safe haven at our council-compliant sanctuary where these vulnerable animals can decompress, undergo assessments, and receive necessary vet care. In these challenging times, as society grapples with financial struggles, we have become entirely reliant on community assistance to continue our critical work of ethical and safe rescuing and rehoming.
Judd Dog Rescue Inc is committed to implementing beneficial community programs designed to enrich the lives of our dogs, but we need more than just goodwill; we need robust support to make a deeper impact. Currently, the lack of consistent funding limits our ability to meet the growing demands and rising costs associated with veterinary services, nutrition, and essential care for rescued dogs.
Statistics show that in Queensland, thousands of dogs face euthanasia annually simply due to shelter overpopulation and lack of resources. This creates a dire need for substantial, ongoing support that ensures meaningful, enduring change. Government involvement could provide organizations like ours with the necessary funding and resources that are pivotal in changing the fate of these dogs forever.
Imagine a future where every dog has a chance at life, a chance for a loving home, and an opportunity to thrive. By securing government funding, we can expand our services, rehabilitate more dogs, and educate the community about responsible pet ownership.
We urge the government to move a moratorium on breeding and allocate necessary funds to dog rescue initiatives, thereby fostering a compassionate community and saving countless lives. By signing this petition, you are endorsing a vital cause that aligns with societal values of empathy, responsibility, and care. Help us make a difference; ensure no dog is left behind.
