I am a volunteer at the Humane Society of Harrison County’s Animal Shelter, and our current building is under threat. The property we lease has been surveyed to be sold, and our lease expires this spring. This shelter has been instrumental in providing care for abused or abandoned animals in Harrison County, Ohio. Since its establishment, we have tripled the number of animals we can help compared to previous years.

This year alone, thanks to this shelter's facilities and dedicated staff, we have managed to trap, neuter, vaccinate and return over 100 community cats back into their habitats. This TNVR program is crucial for maintaining a healthy feline population in our county.

However, all these achievements are at risk if we do not secure a new location for our shelter soon. We need assistance from both the county officials and residents alike to ensure that these vulnerable animals continue receiving the care they deserve.

Animals need a voice - they depend on us to protect them when they cannot protect themselves. Let's give them that voice by ensuring that the Humane Society of Harrison County’s Animal Shelter continues its vital work in a new home.
