Secure a 10-Year Contract for Gonzales Dog Adoptions and maintain our NO KILL status

The Issue

Gonzales Dog Adoptions has been the essential lifeline for stray and abandoned dogs since 2011. In the last decade, we have operated the municipal dog shelter on a limited budget granted by the city. In spite of these financial constraints, our compassionate and dedicated efforts combined with the generous outpouring of support and donations from the community, we have ensured safe, comfortable, and loving environments for countless dogs.

After tireless fundraising efforts, we have raised $100,000 to construct a new building on city-owned property. This new facility will not expand the number of dogs we care for, but it will significantly improve their quality of life, particularly during inclement weather. This, we believe, is crucial for their overall health and well-being.

However, our current year-to-year contract hinders us from planning long-term and utilizing the new building to its full potential. A 10-year contract would allow us to focus our efforts on better care, rehabilitation, and re-homing of dogs and maintaining our NO KILL STATUS.

The power to grant this 10-year contract is in the hands of our local city officials. It is time we implore them to recognize our decade-long dedication and the positive impact we have on the community's dog population. We appeal to everyone to lend their voices to this cause and urge our city officials to secure a 10-year agreement with Gonzales Dog Adoptions. Your support will ensure that we can continue to provide the care and shelter these dogs deserve. Please, sign this petition now.
