Reunite Wendy with her family! Stop her deportation

The Issue

Wendy Soveida Uruchi Contreras

Fredericksburg, Virginia

A young Fredericksburg mother is facing deportation back to the abuse that she fled 14 years ago. Wendy Soveida Uruchi Contreras fled Spain 14 years ago after enduring years of abuse from her alcoholic stepfather. She settled in Fredericksburg, Virginia where she married her husband Giovani and had two beautiful American born kids, Alex, 13 and Lucia, 7.

Wendy is the backbone of this family and her community. In exurban Virginia she has been a fierce advocate for the community, helping women’s groups and mentoring children from the neighborhood. Whether it is helping a neighbor at her child’s school or counseling a teenager on how to achieve his best, Wendy is called on time and time again because of her commitment to helping people strive for greatness.

Wendy has been in ICE custody since July 10 th and has not been able to see her children since. And now Givoani fears the worse. That his kids will grow up without their mother.

“If she is deported we would lose someone who we love so much,” said her distraught husband Giovani Jimenez as he fought back tears. “Especially for her kids. It would cause so much damage to her kids to have her gone out of their lives.”

Wendy has knit together a community of neighbors and families in the UnitedStates. She is exactly the type of woman we need in Virginia. Please get involved in asking ICE to stop her deportation.
