On 30th October 2024, after 7 LONG years of campaigning, The Chancellor announced that the dual carriageway through Rimrose Valley Country Park was cancelled!

It is only now our state of shock is subsiding that we have realised we haven't updated our petition to reflect this incredible news, so please accept our apologies.

In the time since, we've been busy taking stock and refocussing on what our charity was formed to do, which is to promote, protect and enhance Rimrose Valley, strengthen surrounding communities and improve people's health and wellbeing through the use of this amazing green space.

We wanted to thank you for playing your part in this process.

People power, including everyone who signed this petition, was a major factor in this decision.

BUT, a word of caution...

The official grounds for cancelling the road proposal was because the scheme was 'unfunded and unaffordable'.

We know this leaves the door open to similar plans being revisited in the future, so we need to continue our work to oppose this, highlight viable alternatives to port access and protect Rimrose Valley for generations to come.
