A news article recently came to surface regarding the Seattle Police Department. Officer Cynthia Whitlatch was driving on a route in Seattle in which she pulled over to harass an elderly man. He was using a golf club as a walking cane. She asked for him to put it down (since it was a weapon supposedly) and when he asked why she falsely stated for the recording that he swung the cane as defiance at her. This poor citizen did NOTHING of the sorts and then was arrested! SPD has apologized and removed Officer Whitlatch temporarily pending investigation. THAT SHOULD NOT JUSTIFY WHAT Officer Whitlatch committed! How are we supposed to trust that Officer Whitlatch or the Seattle Police Department in the future to make JUST calls and PROTECT us instead of harass innocent citizens?
