Seattle Mariners Trident Curse
The Issue
Hello Fellow Mariners Fans,
I'm a lifelong Mariners fan and like most of you, I can vividly remember watching the 1995 ALDS at my Grandparents house and the pure excitement and joy on my family's face when we heard the ball crack off Edgar's bat and watched Cora and Griffey cross home plate sending us to ALCS only to lose to those damn Yankees.
I remember watching the Kingdome being imploded and seeing the house that Griffey built open only to see our prized franchise player be traded to Cincinnati. The excitement of the early 2000's, watching a rookie name Ichiro win AL MVP and rookie of the year and tie a record of 116 wins, only to lose to those damn Yankees in the ALCS again and watching King Felix pitch a perfect game.
Win or lose I'm a Mariners fan for life! Like most of you I'm getting tired of saying this is going to be our year, just to let down again.
I'm starting this petition in hopes that we can finally get rid of the cursed Trident logo. In the years 77-86 the Mariners wore the trident logo and had no winning seasons. In the year 2002 the Mariners started selling items with the logo on them and they haven't seen the post season since. Last season they started wearing hats at spring training only to have one of the most injury plagued season ever. The start of this spring training has proved we're headed towards more injuries.
It's time to make a change and leave the logo in the past where it belongs!
