In 2001 The Seattle Mariners had an epic and memorable season wining 116 regular season games. This is an amazing accomplishment, but not why baseball is played.  It’s not about the regular season home runs, strike outs, walks, or number of wins.

It’s about October!

October baseball has not been played in Seattle since the “116 win” banner has been hung in right field. It’s like a participation trophy staring me in the face anytime I’m at the stadium. 

Remove the “116 wins” banner and replace it with an American League Championship banner, or better yet, World Series Champions!
