To Northern Beaches Council

We, the undersigned members of the local community and visitors to the area, respectfully request that Patagonia NB be allowed to reinstall chairs and tables in their operating space near the Headland at Long Reef.

Throughout the past year, Patagonia NB has created a welcoming space where locals and tourists can enjoy quality coffee and community spirit. Many people have expressed how helpful it would be to have a rest area, especially considering the long walk to reach the Headland Lookout. The chairs and tables offered a moment of pause, a chance to recharge, and made the area even more enjoyable for families, elderly visitors, and anyone needing a break.

Recently, these amenities were removed following a complaint that claimed the setup was “apparently dangerous.” We believe the seating area, if managed responsibly and even fenced if required, poses no harm and greatly enhances the comfort and wellbeing of the community.

The Patagonia NB team is deeply committed to the community and is fully prepared to take any necessary steps to ensure safety for everyone. Whether that means redesigning the space, fencing the area, or implementing additional safety measures, they are ready to cooperate with Council guidelines to keep the community safe and happy.

We kindly ask the Council to reconsider and support the reinstatement of a safe, clean, and community-friendly seating area next to Patagonia NB.

Let’s bring back this much-loved space.
