Hello everyone and thank you for your ongoing support.
I apologize for the lack of updates, as with many other people; life has been hectic.
The recent updates, disappointments and downfalls have been very frustrating and I have had trouble finding the words to touch base with this community.
As we all feared, the ship has sank. The small promise broken. I'm so sorry to those who applied for the hardship fund and will be disappointed by the lack of promised funds. I'm sorry that you all have to endure the fact that executives will STILL receive approx $6.8 million in bonuses, while those promised severance have their contracts spat on, and 12,000+ people who have lost or are losing their jobs get nothing. I'm sorry you have lost 19% of your pensions for your hard work, perhaps they're using it to pay the execs...
I'm sorry that I'm simply angry and unsurprised.
I wish everyone the best of luck moving forward. I hope you can be the catalyst of change in bankruptcy laws in business to protect employees. I have offered our voice here to many firms in hopes they can use it with MPs.
Personally, I think Sears Canada should be using liquidation sales to replenish the pensions if severance is never going to be an option.
I am so proud of the people I see constantly speaking out, giving interviews, making sure these hard working people - these families - do not go quietly into the night.
