At least 10 families at the bottom end of Victoria Street, Sutton have for over a decade lived with an unsealed road marked by potholes. Every heavy rain this deteriorates further, becoming more dangerous. This not only affects them, but their friends and families as well as couriers/tradespeople.

Numerous tyres have been blown from the potholes (including myself, my wife and my parents). Many residents have taken to driving on the grass on the side of the road which is not only unsightly, but is not even an option for those of us not in a 4WD. When it rains, the unsealed road becomes a serious driving hazard.

The dust becomes an even greater problem as we approach summer and the rains subside. Cars going down the road kick up huge dust clouds several times a day.

The requirement to seal the remainder of Victoria Street was removed by the elected Council in 2014.

Signatories to this petition are rate-paying homeowners who have been patient and deserve to drive to their homes without worrying whether they will crack an axel, burst a tyre, slide in the mud and lose control, or have a car full of dust.

This petition respectfully requests the council address the issue and seal the end of Victoria Street.
