Animals captured in the wild and brought into captivity have a shorter life span than animals who are left alone in the wild. Animals that are bred in captivity and are released do not have any chance of survival on their own due to the independence of being fed by a human hand. Animals that have to "perform" for the entertainment of others do something called a "behavior" this is a set of tricks that they are trained to do. If the animal does not perform this "behavior" they do not receive food as their reward and become aggrivated from this constant treatment. Animals, such as Tilikum, an Icelandic killer whale captured in the wild, were constantly starved and placed in a tiny holding pool that he had little to no movement in. Zoos around the world feed their animals' toxic chemicals. Surabaya Zoo in Indonesia feeds their tigers meat that is laced with formaldehyde. Giza Zoo in Egypt places their animals in cramped living spaces and refuses to give their animals more room to exercise. Sea World in San Diego and Orlando, keep animals in very limited living spaces and starves animals for not doing what they're told.
