SeaWorld entertainment have abused many animals but the most significant cases in many peoples eyes would be the orca whales, that have been kept in (so called) tanks that are of such a miniscule size in comparison to the vast oceans that they are indigenous to. Over the years many people have highlighted this issue in the media by making documentary's, protests and other petitions etc and have had results as recently seaworld ended their breeding program but there are still many orcas imprisoned In the seaworld parks. Tilikum who was featured in the documentary Blackfish was captured near Iceland in 1983 when he was just 2years old, he was ripped from his family and was taken to sealand after he had only just managed to survive the transportation to his gruelling new home. After being at sea land for 8years, on February 21st 1991 sealand Trainer Keltie Byrne fell in to the pool containing 3 orcas and was brutally killed by tilikum who for a decade suffered the stress , frustration and confinement of sealand. Shortly after the death of Keltie sea land closed its doors for good; putting tilikum up for sale though he was nothing more than a commodity. Seaworld later bought tilikum for their breeding program. In 1999 he killed Daniel P. Dukes and then in 2010 killed Dawn Brancheau, that's 3 lives taken because of 1 cruel act that set out a trail of unspeakable events. Now tilikum is 32years old and hasn't seen his vast habitat In 30 years. His life is coming to an end without seeing his true home one last time. There are more undeserving souls including tilikum that are waiting for there inevitable end without living in their true home that they are indigenous to.
