The Issue

84 was a useful bus route between Newcastle, Kilcoole, Greystones, Bray, Brides Glen, Cabinteely and Blackrock.
84A was a shorter varient that terminated at Bray instead of going all the way to Newcastle.

However the NTA (National Transport authority) Gave us the L2 and L14 with TFI Connect phase 6a. and Go-Ahead-Ireland ran the L2. This turned out to be a DISASTER. As buses would sometimes never show up or go the complete wrong direction!
To get to Blackrock From Newcastle, you now need to do 3 changes,
1st, you take L2 to Briarwood, then switch to L14 and take it to Valley Drive, then switch to 7, then finally, you've reached Blackrock, This would take above an hour and half. 84 would just take an Hour and a half. But you might say
"but it takes the same amount of time. So what's the point?"
Reminder L2,L14 And 7 are every 30 minutes so miss one of each is another hour and a half wait.

The company that would operate this new 84/A would be Dublin Bus as
Go Ahead Ireland has failed to give us a reliable bus service.
However Go Ahead Ireland would be required to run the new subvarient

84 Timetable revise:
84 and  84A would be every 40 minutes through out the day.
After Bray Station 84A and 84 would combine to make a 20 minute frequency .

"BUT. What about Sea Road Lane? 84 doesn’t go down there that often"
this is where the "new subvariant" is for
This subvariant answers two questions
1 "why does Dublin Bus have to use all their buses while Go Ahead gets to have plenty"
2 "84 is infrequent what should we do?"
Introducing the 84B. hypothetically ran by Go-ahead Ireland.
84B will serve 'Woodbrook Station - Dublin Road - Bray - Greystones-Eden Gate - Kilpedder - Newtownmountkennedy - Woodstock Road- Kilcoole Sea Road Lane'

How many buses do we need?
For 84A we would need 4 buses running.
84 would need 8 buses running.
totalling up to 12 buses required.
Dublin Bus would most Likely have spare buses for this service.
84B requires 6 buses to run a 30 minute frequency service
Go ahead Ireland has Plenty of buses to run it.

If 84 was brought back what other routes would need to change?
L2 Would get Scrapped
L3 Will go via Greystones Shopping Centre and Via Charlesland and then terminate at Hawkins Wood Avenue (specifically the old 702 terminus stop)
L14 Would be cut back to Palermo
7 Will go to Cherrywood instead of Brides Glen
