The Issue

Stirling Council have confirmed that from the 1st of May 2024, anyone who wishes to use the Lower Polmaise waste management / Recycling centre will require to make a booking in advance, and that this will apply to Non-Commercial Vehicle types as well as to Commercial Vehicle types.

"I can confirm that the new booking system will apply to all vehicles. If a resident attends site with no prior booking then unfortunately they wouldn’t be granted access however, same day bookings can be made if slots are still available."

By making it more difficult for householders to responsibly recycle and dispose of non-recyclable waste, this will likely cause an increase in direct and indirect fly-tipping.

This petition calls on Stirling Council to scrap the booking system for the Lower Polmaise waste management / Recycling centre in its entirety or at a minimum to exempt non-commercial vehicle types from having to book.
