As you may know our New Bus Garage was built in 2021, our parking lot has not been touched. The current parking lot is mostly gravel with some old blacktop up by the maintenance facility, and is in poor condition. Driving in and out of the parking lot is very rough and hard on the buses and our personal vehicles. Every time it rains hard enough for a washout we get ruts from water washing the gravel away. There are also a lot of deep potholes that will make the bus rock pretty good. Sometimes they don't get filled in in a timely manner. Also where we park our buses is muddy and every once in a while we have a bus get stuck in the mud. In the summertime when we have the garage doors open and it is dry, gravel dust gets kicked up from buses driving around the build which blows through the garage and covers everything in dust, even in the office space. Also are supposed to change air filters on the buses @ 24k miles per KDE recommendation, a lot of times we are changing air filters in 10-15k miles due to the amount of gravel dust sucked up by the engine. Excessive dust can result in fuel injector failures and an expensive and unnecessary repair. We ask that you consider putting priority on fixing and paving our parking lot.
