Pre-K BACK OPEN ..... sort of! They created a DCES PreK "Wait List" that will automatically have the original 9 (not 11) put on it -- but we need to hit the 15 mark by Friday July 24th in order to have adequate staffing. Dr. Thuman spent almost 40 minutes with me on the phone in great detail explaining the process and he wants DCES to have a Pre-K if we can rally the troops. Truly no conspiracy against us. Please contact friends if you know people on the fence - - the Wait List will stay open through the Fall in case people move to the neighborhood and we reach the critical 15 in Sept or October but then obviously would need to find different staff. There are 5 people from the original 9 that moved to other PreK programs in the District . . they will be "double booked" in the Wait List AND the other choice they made. Community Ed is calling every family directly. Also there is a huge Cheyenne waiting list - so some of them might come over for a year. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR SPREADING THE WORD - - the finish line is Friday July 24th ..... please keep up your posts and shares to get the word out about the Wait List.
