My children have been through this, not once but twice. My oldest three were abandoned by their father when they were 4 and 2, he decided he no longer wanted to be a dad. My youngest is currently going through this with her father. The emotional imprint and suffering this has left on my children is astronomical. My 7 year old asks me almost daily 'Why doesn't daddy want to see me? Why doesn't daddy answer his phone when I call him?

If you make a child, you have a moral and legal obligation to support that child throughout their lives, not walk away when it suits them or when both parents cannot get on.

There needs to be tougher laws in place that tell parents it is illegal to abandon your child.

Children deserve the love of two parents.
