I would like for fireworks to be banned here in Scotland. Every single year we see hundreds of our beloved pets dying, this can be through injury or complete fright and anxiety. Every year I watch my social media fill with videos of my friends and families dogs/cats/ rabbits shaking to the core with fear, tragically a lot of them don’t make it. If this is our pets, what is it doing to our wildlife? I’m sure you have seen the horrific videos of the horses dying of anxiety and fright, right here in our home country. It’s not on and it can’t continue. I am a pet owner myself and each year I fork out money to buy tablets and plug ins like thousands of others to help keep my cat alive all so we can see a spark of colour in the sky. Somethings got to give. When is the lives of innocent animals going to mean more than the selfish desires of humans?

This seems to be an issue that is highlighted every year yet nothing ever changes. I believe animals deserve better and I hope you do too.

I have written a letter to first minister Nicola Sturgeon to try and have this at least spoke about in parliament. Something has to change and it starts with us. Please join me in trying to make a positive difference.
