On 2 July 2018, a six-year-old Alesha McPhail was abducted, raped and murdered on the Isle of Bute.

She sustained over 100 injuries during this savage attack.

 

On 21st February, Aaron Campbell was convicted of murder at the High Court in Glasgow.

 

He was sentenced on 21 March 2019 by Lord Matthews to at least 27 years imprisonment for the abduction, rape and murder of Alesha MacPhail.

 

Campbell has asked for an appeal against his life sentence. This request was granted.

He has boasted about what he did to Alesha. Lord Matthews called it probably the most depraved case he'd ever dealt with.

 

Aaron Campbell has already caused enough pain. He has already misused the Scottish justice system.
