Many lives have been lost on the river Tweed.

We need lifebelts on this stretch of water desperately to save lives.

We are asked to drive carefully and wear seatbelts to save lives but something as simple as lifebelts on a riverside seems to be an impossible task for our council.

We have defibrillators in our town a wonderful device that may save a life or lives, why not the same considerations to the riverside, this river looks calm on top but underneath it has dangerous undercurrents that pull you down trapping you in the weeds and rocks.

Join me and sign my petition, I have lost 2 children to the Tweed and other families have been devastated by the loss of a loved one to this river. If we save just one life won’t it be worth it.

One of the many excuses they use is it will ruin the aesthetics of the scenery, seriously!! They are putting tourism before the lives of our children.  They also say lifebelts will encourage people to swim there, I say they are going to swim there anyway.
