We, the students of Deptford High School, are deeply concerned about the decision to let go of Mr. Scott due to budget cuts. Mr. Scott is not just a history teacher he’s a mentor, a leader, and someone who truly cares about his students. He teaches three different history classes, including Holocaust, American Minority's, and Freshman Advanced. Along with his energy and passion, and he’s a key leader in the Culture Club, where he encourages students to express themselves and celebrate diversity. His classroom is one of the few places where students feel genuinely seen, heard, and respected. He makes learning engaging and relevant, and he takes the time to get to know each of his students, helping us grow not only academically but personally.    

    What sets Mr. Scott apart is his character he’s patient, understanding, and always willing to support his students in and out of the classroom. Many of us turn to him when we need advice, encouragement, or simply someone who will listen. He creates a positive environment where students feel safe and valued. Removing him from our school would take away one of the few adults we can truly trust and connect with. Deptford High would lose not just a great teacher, but someone who brings heart and meaning to our school community. We respectfully ask that you reconsider this decision, because keeping Mr. Scott means keeping the spirit of our school alive.
