DONT LET SGT JAMES BULTER KILL ANYMORE DOGS in Des Moines Iowa ... Sgt. James Butler doesn’t want the job of Chief Humane Officer in Des Moines. He said in a recorded conversation he didn't ask to for this job. He claimed it was a political move against him because the other police officers were jealous of his education but otherwise he "should be up for Chief of Police".

I believe he was placed in this position after the Des Moines Police Dept realized he was still a threat to innocent minorities after he was suspended for 5 days in a disciplinary action for causing a black man to be arrested when he was off duty without probable cause and attempted to destroy the evidence of the security video that demonstrated the man wasn't trying to steal anything. The court found Sgt. Butler committed malicious prosecution without probable cause; destruction of property; use of force and language contrary to departmental training and regulations; and ignoring the special duty of care he had to an injured person.

After Sgt Butler became Chief Humane Officer dangerous dog declarations went from 2 or 3 a year to 16 dogs (pit bull type because he has openly stated how he hates them) earning him the title "Chief Dog Killer". He picks on citizens who are either minority, disabled and the homeless while letting affluent Caucasian people off with warnings. This bullying behavior against those that cannot defend themselves extends to his personal life where he has harassed and abused multiple women. For example he violated a "no contact order" involving a girlfriend.

This Petition serves multiple purposes.

1. FREE DIESEL - save his innocent life. He was provoked and is not a mean dog. 

2. REMOVE SGT BUTLER from the position of Chief Humane Officer.

Diesel is locked up in a 2’ x 4’ cell where he must eat, go to the bathroom and is confined without human contact. NO ONE INCLUDING ME ARE ALLOWED TO EVEN VISIT HIM. (100 days Jan 6th). The ARL of Iowa is not a long term shelter facility. This is inhumane. This IS WRONG!
