Balloons are EXTREMELY dangerous to seabirds. 

80% of innocent baby birds, off the coast of Australia have been found with plastic in their stomachs, a lot of that plastic is balloons. We NEED to stop blowing up helium balloons they’re killing a lot of our seabirds. 

"Balloons, or balloon fragments, were the marine debris most likely to cause mortality, and they killed almost one in five of the seabirds that ingested them," said study author Lauren Roman, a Ph.D. student at the University of Tasmania's Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies. 

"Although soft plastics [like balloons] accounted for just 5 percent of the items ingested, they were responsible for more than 40 percent of the mortalities," she reported. 

Every single time you let go of a balloon a bird will eat it. 

Just STOP blowing up balloons and think of the wildlife you could’ve killed by letting go of a balloon and then a bird takes it and eats it then the bird dies, NO! that is not good, we cannot do this to our birds! So this is our solution, blow bubbles at your parties instead of balloons, because bubbles won’t kill our birds, now if we don’t do this then most likely a lot of our seabirds will die. 

It’s just so silly that A LOT of parties use TONS of balloons and even release them to kill seabirds (it’s also very sad).
