Because our society has lost the extended family Our FRAIL AGED are OFTEN LEFT ISOLATED, LACKING THE CARE THEY NEED. The modern fast pace of life means no one has time to help. Have you ever needed help and been refused multiple times? Then you know how hard it is to ask for help. Providers of Aged Care enable the aged and infirm to stay in their own homes due to the severe shortage of Nursing Homes and the aged blocking the availability of hospital beds because there is no other way to help them. In July 2015 FUNDING to Aged Care Providers WAS CUT BY $472 million. As a result Providers were forced to cut staffing levels. Co-ordinators of home care and Rosterers who manage Carer rosters for clients were the first jobs to be axed. Providers do not have time now to prepare Care Plans, or roster Carers in a reliable fashion. Telephone reception staff now have the added functions of Co-ordinators and Rosterers. OUR AGED ARE FALLING THROUGH THE GAPS and MISSING OUT on regular services. Imagine you are old, frail, ill and in pain.NO ONE TO HELP YOU. You are very thankful to be receiving aged care in your home if only the carer would turn up. Is the my regular carer coming to help me today or will it be a new person I have never met before? Will anyone turn up? Will anyone let me know if the carer is a no show? THERE ARE TIMES WHEN NO ONE TURNS UP TO HELP YOU. If you are lucky Providers will have enough staff to send out another carer. Otherwise you miss out on your shower for that week or your cleaning for that month. Our elderly need RELIABLE care. Now the Treasurer announced in December that FURTHER cuts to Aged Care Providers are on the table in the coming Federal Budget. Enough is enough! NO MORE CUTS to Aged Care!
