A week ago, when there were less than a dozen signatories to this petition, I wondered how it would ever gain notice. Had I done the right thing or would it fall flat?

As I write this we approach 650 signatures. I thank you all for making the effort to sign and, importantly, to share this petition with others. Please don't stop. Dr Moore-Gilbert is in a very fragile state, both mentally and physically. Her health worsens the longer she is detained and it is critical that she is released.

Her basic human rights are still being ignored. She is denied access to her family even though a judge ordered her to be allowed phone calls and she struggles to get the right food, medicines and personal items she needs. 

Her situation must change. By keeping up the pressure I hope we can focus the attentions of the British and Australian Governments and give them the impetus to act.
