Dear Sir/ Madam,
On behalf of the refugees' community in Indonesia, I would like to thank you all for supporting this petition. With this petition, we hope to demand a solution to be finally free from this open prison designed by the cruel policies of the Australian government. This has led many refugees to give up living their lives. Nearly 90 per cent of the refugees' population are suffering from mental disorders.
When you are trapped in a situation with no freedom to travel, work and a make family and are kept under tight security just because you seek asylum fleeing from war and conflict, Of course, you will go crazy. With my limited ability to do research, I have discovered " 10 persons" have committed suicide since 2013.
It is a continuation of prolonged suffering which might not easily come to end since Australia has politicised the vulnerable refugees, and used us as hostages to serve an example for others in the region. We are voiceless and destitute! if things remain unchanged, I am afraid to say that many lives will be destroyed and lost.
Thank you again for supporting us. Once we have reached reasonable signatures, I am planning to make it to media.
