Isabella is now two years old. Whilst the risk of deportation looms, the first COVID-19 case in connection to Australian immigrant detention centres has just been confirmed. It has never been more uncertain what is ahead for her and her family.
Alison, their Australian lawyer, is calling for the release of these innocent people before COVID-19 spreads through immigration detention centres.
Alison puts it simply:
“Families across Australia are struggling with the ramifications of COVID-19. The families of people in detention are no different.
"We ask that these families are allowed to bring their loved ones home to see out the pandemic.
"These people have safe and caring home environments willing to support them, either with a family member or advocate in Australia.”
Over 10,000 of us stood with Huyen and Isabella back in November 2019 through my petition to #keepthemtogether.
Huyen and Paul, their family and friends are so worried for little Isabella, who suffered a severe bout of the flu less than 12 months ago.
They need us now more than ever.
Please sign Alison’s petition today. #SaferAtHome
With thanks and solidarity,
