Ban Rodeos in Australia

Rodeos are simply inhumane and disgusting. The risks posed towards animals used in these events should raise serious concerns and should not be taken lightly. Many animals suffer from broken legs, ribs and backs, torn tails, punctured lungs, internal organ damage, ripped tendons, torn ligaments, snapped necks, damaged tissue and painful deaths. The animals used in rodeos are put in a situation where their stress, panic and fear levels are high. Horses and bulls used in bronco and bull riding are injured by solid objects while trying to get the rider off, because they are very stressed and in fear. Because of the horses and bulls being prey animals their reaction to the flank, spurs, and electric prod used in the events initiate their instincts and remind them of being attacked of a predator when being ridden this way. In December 2017, a bull suffered a broken leg and had to be euthanized during the event held in Adelaide. There are so many situations where calves, bulls, horse and steers have suffered painful injuries, and other than that they are put under so much stress and pressure, and they are scared all the time in the events. Imagine if someone much, much taller and musclier than you was chasing you with a rope, trying to contain you, scary right? That’s exactly how the animals feel.
