Australian pressure on Japanese Whaling

0 have signed. Let’s get to 2,500!

Japan has resumed commercial whaling as of July 2019, an industry that employs no more than 300 people. Already, whales have been killed and sold as meat in Japan, and Australia and the rest of the world have been mute in their response.

In 2010, Australia took Japan to the International Court of Justice, which ruled in Australia’s favour and ultimately led to a premature end to Japan’s 2014/15 whaling.

This petition is to resume our Australia’s role as the international leader on whale conservation and defence. This petition asks Scott Morrison and Foreign Minister Marise Payne to put international pressure on Shinzo Abe of Japan to end commercial whaling and end Japanese whaling altogether.
