It was brought to everyone's attention on a moms of St .James group that there is an illegal massage parlour on Ness and Mount Royal called Sunhope Wellness. You can do a simple Google search on the place and men's reviews will come up on who does what kind of "services" they provide. There and also a kijiji ad advertising "Unique Massages" and stating they are not an RMT and do not bill insurance. (I have also attached the links). They are also located on an escort site. This is in a residential areas with an elementary school, daycares and churches right around the corner. These types of “body rub” places are supposed to be only allowed in the downtown area only and with a special license (there are only three legit shops in the city). I have called the police to inform them and Scott Gillingham our area city councilor is aware and is willing to help us in any way he can. He is open to any suggestions that any one may have on how to get this place shut down, he did mention that the more public backing we have the better, and perhaps we can do an online petition to send to the property owners or go to the media if anyone is comfortable to contact them about this as he will fully support us. This shop is a lot more of an issue then just men cheating on spouses, these types of places are known to exploit young women and can be a front for a lot more illegal activities then just sexual services. A similar shop in the west end has caused major issues with teens being approached for sex, do we really want that happening here? This place needs to go in order to keep our children and neighborhood safe!
