The pledge of alleigance is not a requirement in schools, but still widely used and students are forced to say it every day under both peer pressure and societal standards. It is a pact that makes the student take sides with a country and its representatives)that they may not like in the first place. It also forces the idea of Christianity onto children. The pledge calls for "liberty, and justice for all", which is a falsehood, considering the events the nation has went through and continues to go through.
