No More School Uniforms

No More School Uniforms
The Issue
The beginning of this academic year has started with the problem. My daughter hates wearing uniform. She is convinced that it sets measures to her personality and creativity. Sometimes it seems that she is about to play hooky to avoid wearing this cloying uniform.
Frankly speaking, my child has been against school uniforms from the very first jump. Nevertheless, when this policy was first implemented in our school, I tried to encourage my daughter, persuading her that wearing uniform can be swanky or something like this. I offered her various accessories, hairdos to make her look more stylish and distract her mind from uniform cares.
In the long run, I gave up all attempts to instill her liking for school uniform. Last week she got C for an essay. I was surprised that she has failed to perform a simple composition as writing essays has always been her strong point. She explained to me that that day all pupils were having a discussion with teachers concerning wearing uniforms. It means that this problem has peaked up the steam and may influence pupils’ academic progress.
Someone may not see a direct correlation between wearing uniform and the quality of studies. However, to my mind this is a problem. In any case, monotonous clothes worn day after day do not stimulate learning either.
On top of that, school uniform is rather a pricey thing. Apart from a must-have skirt, trousers, and a jacket that are integral elements of the school uniform, I have to spent money for everyday clothes. It costs me a pretty penny.
If you and your children are concerned about this problem, let us solve it once and for all. Any person’s individuality especially the young one is in need of development. It is a natural process that teenagers should want to express themselves and make autonomous decisions.
I realize that schools as well as other educational institutions are no place for miniskirts and tops. That is why, I put forward an idea to replace strict uniforms with formal clothes. These may be jeans and blouse or a skirt and some cute sweater. Let our children be their own selves.
I turn to school administration and ask them to reconsider uniform policy and make it less strict.
Thank you
