- Amid the pandemic, it is devastating that violence, harassment, and abuse are still visible in society. Aside from the COVID-19 virus, Hate, Discrimination, and Racism add up to the contagious virus that is on some people's narrow minds. Last March 16, 2021, A deadly shooting took the lives of eight (8) civilians, and Six (6) out of the eight victims were Asian women. They are; Soon Chung Park (74), SunCha Kim (69), Yong Ae Yue (63), Hyung Jung Grant (51), XiaoJie Tan (49), Delaina Yaun (33), DaoYou Feng (44), Paul Andre Michels (54). Remember their names.
- Over the past year, new reports are disclosed regarding the number of anti-Asian hate incidents. According to the research report forum of Stop AAPI Hate, nearly 3,800 incidents were reported over a year during the pandemic. The number highly increased than the last year's count of about 2,600 hate reports nationwide in the span of five months.
- To sum it up, they say society is the one to blame, however, let us remember that we are the society. We cannot change our ethnicity, but we can change our mentality. Help our fellow Asian or Asian-american brothers and sisters who are being attacked by this. Protect them. Stand with us. Make a change. Sign the petition. Thank you.
